Since 2014, I have crafted articles, profiles, and features for newspapers, magazines, and e-publications. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and my writing has been recognized with a Kentucky Press Association news award and an artist enrichment grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women. I am a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

I write accessible articles in jargon-free English that tell a human story with dignity. I am easy to work with and always meet my deadlines. I believe that stories are everywhere, not just the coasts, and treasure the people and happenings in the small towns where I have lived, from Texas to Alaska to Connecticut to Kentucky.

I am an avid reader and a gardener. I love exploring on foot near my home, where the Appalachian foothills meet the Kentucky bluegrass. I tell groan-worthy Dad jokes and usually have the loudest laugh in the room.

What My Clients Say

“Working with Kim is easy and straight forward. She is able to make connections with interviewees and uses her own skills, knowledge and experience to shape a story from the information she gathers. Her writing is clear, clean and informative. I would recommend her as a top-notch freelance copywriter to any publication.

— Abbie Darst, Berea College

“I have had the opportunity to work with Kim Kobersmith in coordinating her to write alumni profiles for my university. Kim is responsive, asks great questions to get to the heart of the profile/story and has met or exceeded deadline expectations.”

Kimberly Morrison, Barry University
